Now This Makes My Heart Sing
Someone gave the following children's devotional to me last Christmas so I can read it to my grandchildren. Truth be told, I've been reading it for myself :O).
Take a peek at one of the daily devotions and you can see why:
"God's rules are his gift to us. To help us be who we really are.
But God doesn't want you thinking that if you keep the rules you'll make him love you. He wants you to rely on Jesus' record, not yours ~ because Jesus has already done everything the rules required.
You obey God, not so that God will love you ~ He already does. He couldn't love you any more that he does! ~ but because you love him.
We can love God's rules now ~ because they show us more about God and how to love him." ~
