"Moonrise Kingdom" and the movie too!

So, I let my 18 year old son talk me into watching "Moonrise Kingdom" with him. For the most part, it was hilarious. But I say it with a caveat as there was a particular little scene that pushed the envelope a bit too much for me...but then this is Wes Anderson...so anyway...

besides the over the top creative humor, I was enthralled with...
the sets!
the props!
the costumes!

oh my!

I must've said, at least 40 times, "did this movie win any awards for these sets?"

Poor son of mine...he must've said at least 41 times, "mom, just watch the movie!".

I want to know where I can get a job finding movie set props. Where? Tell me? I mean those mailboxes! Genius.

This was often one part of a split screen.

And here was the other part of the split screen. Right down to her pointy shoes and blue hat. Stylin' with a statement.

Now this little duo and their vintage glamping props are the inspiration for my grandson's play space in our new home. Got to get going on this one I do.

Even the smaller scenes were decked to the max with plaidisms and vintage ephemera.

Thanks for the inspiration...oh yeah, and the movie too.
