A Few Good Books

Since I am in the retracing mode over here, I thought I would pause and post a few of my favorite authors and books. In particular, the ones that informed, encouraged, provoked and inspired me in the storms of the past decade.

O.K. So I haven't read this one yet. But I'm posting "American Psychosis" here because it's the next one up! And I love anything by Dr. Torrey.
Speaking of Dr. Torrey, this Manual is a work of art. There may be other books out there, but this is my personal favorite so far.
I found out about this book at the NAMI "Family to Family" class. The first half was extremely helpful. I have not delved in to the last half yet...

The rest are my personal favorites regarding Christ centered, truth saturated encouragement. Several of these had special spots on my dresser next to my bed...dust covered, tear saturated pages of comfort. Pointing me to my Savior, over and over.

Looks like quite a great list. I was scrolling down and wondering if "one of these things is not like the other"? The Screwtape Letters? I haven't read it, but perhaps it does fit here? :)

Nope, the Screwtape Letters definitely fit! So encouraging. Chapter 8 was my favorite :O).

See, I should try to read it (it's just above my head)!
