Remembering So I Can Forget

‎"When life becomes about Christ's effort, not mine; his performance, not mine; his behavior, not mine--blessed self-forgetfulness happens!" ~ Tullian Tchividjian
Often God meets us in the most upside down (our perspective) and unexpected ways. Sometimes, we need to remember so we can forget.

When I am full of doubting and complaining (notice the self focus...gah!), a good healthy dose of truth regarding my first estate can bring the unexpected freedom and peace from my heavenly Father's steadfast care.

What I bring to the table: "Yet you did not call upon me, O Jacob; but you have been weary of me, O Israel!...But you have burdened me with your sins; you have wearied me with your iniquities." Isaiah 43:22 and 24b

God: "I, I am he
who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Put me in remembrance; let us argue together; set forth your case, that you may be proved right." Isaiah 43:25~26

Sweet Redeemer and Mighty King!! Blessed, freeing, peaceful, joy~bringing, self~forgetfulness.

May my boast be in You. And oh what boasting there is to do!!

"Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors." Isaiah 55:10~12
