Heading Down the Shore?

Picked up this pair of sweeties the other day and since my home is a home full of men, out they must go. I couldn't convice the guys that these genuine Fashionaire Samsonite pieces would enhance their manly decor, although my older teenage son did remark that he was impressed with the retro design.Yes, these are the real 1960's deal. If you do a little research you'll find that this particular edition is hard to find. There was a limited edition reissue in 2007 and apparently only about 600 pieces were released. Those sold for over $500.00 (I'm trying to sweeten the deal, can you tell?).
The larger suitcase measures approximately 2 ft., 5 in. in length and 1 ft., 9 in. height. It definitely has vintage wear, but hey, isn't that why we like these things?

The inside is a bit worn...
...and could use some repair...
...yet if using for decor (like a sweet little girl's room)...
...it only adds to the charm.

Gah! I love old labels. Could eat them if I could. Weirdo confesssions. Moving on now...
The smaller suitcase measures approximately 1 ft., 11 in. in width and 1 ft., 6 in. in height. Just as darling as the larger one, yet could use a little bit of sprucing up (magic erase is my secret weapon).
Old handles! Old name plates!
Love the orange polka dots! Not too perfect inside...
...so I'll even throw in some genuine sand!
Here's that label again!
I strangely feel the urge to watch old "Mod Squad" reruns.

Mrs Gees-- I mean... Deborah!! ;)

i have a rather bizarre question.... i love love love the pattern on these suitcases & would love to have a picture for my hallway wall of just the pattern (it's so very pretty!). is there a way i could maybe get a picture of the large side of one of them which I could then print? if that makes any sense, and if you still have them of course :)

I am ignorant about antiques but your passion for them is so contagious! My appreciation is growing....
