Cast Iron Fireplace Mantel
In case I haven't mentioned this before, I like rust. And old things.
And if they are beautifully crafted, well, yea, it's a good day.
Cant' say that I've ever purchased a fireplace mantel before, and I almost separated this set. I was drawn to the two ornate pieces.
But the sweet garage sale lady kindly explained what it was, ehem, because I was blinded by the rust.
And what a sweet lady she was, along with her friend. Made a very nice deal with me and when I left they said I was like a grand daughter to them.
The people I meet are precious sometimes.
I may,
or may not, clean this set up. Because not everyone loves rust as much as I do. And a few little pieces need some tweaking, but I'm game.
Thank you, dear husband, for waking me up early with that cup of coffee. I'd say it was worth it :O).
