Suffering
We heard a very encouraging message this morning at our church on suffering from 1 Peter 1:6~9. I will be relishing it for some time to come.
After church, my husband and I like to linger. Talking with our friends and family. We sometimes call this "fellowshipping", but in reality we just want to stay as long as we can in that earthly sanctuary so we don't have to go back to our trials. As my nephew Clint likes to say, "Can we bring our sleeping bags and pillows? Just close the doors and we'll all stay here?" I wish.
Today, softly in the background, this sweet, blues influenced, cd was playing. It's "Soujourn's" newest called "The Water and The Blood". I just so happened to win this cd and I cannot wait for it to arrive!! I entered a contest that asked people to share why they would want to win a free copy. So, naturally, I begged them. I told them of my current situation and how their music helped me and well, yeah, begged. It seems to have payed off because I won :o), and I am so grateful.
Sweet encouragement from Isaac Watts' lyrics if you are currently in the midst of trials. And if you aren't, you will be soon. Especially if you keep living on this planet. Jesus guarantees it. Enjoy!
"Arise, O Lord, fulfill thy grace,
While I thy glory sing;
My God has broke the serpent’s teeth,
And death has lost his sting."
