This "Vittle Ottle"

In case there was any doubt, I must put to rest the notion that antique dealers are only in this business for the money.

Admittedly, we are a quirky, nerdy sort of folk. I'm not going to lie, in the back of my mind there is the wild hope of that dream dicovery. The unearthing of that rare, one of a kind, museum "wow" piece. But, truly, at the heart of the matter we just love history. And if that history is tied to nostalgia, well then all the better.

A history that is revealed through ingredients.
Raised lettering on a glass soda bottle.
Bubbles from hand blown glass of wine bottles.
Signatures left from bottling companies revealing origins and age.
Sweeter and older clues.
Inverted bottoms revealing the work put into making simple glass containers, by hand.
Last, but not least, searching for "blop~tops" and olive and amber colored glass.

So, the next time you open your favorite bottle of wine, amber ale or glass of coke, remember...there is an entire history that went into getting that to you.

And if you can't remember that, then at least take a moment to enjoy this..."The answer to all of your problems is in this vittle ottle" :o)!
