Rescue, redemption and reunion

This photo is from a blog post a looooong time ago. Long. My mother's chandelier from her home in Mississippi.

Redeemed and liberated this gorgeous piece is. Saved by my mom from a segregationist's plantation home in Mississippi to be exact.

As if you didn't already know, I love rescuing old treasures. But this is sweet satisfaction on another level. Here it is awaiting restoration after the long journey from MS. But she made it (thank you Chris!!), and now awaits a new home as she hangs inside of Village Antiques.

My husband placed her there last night. Should have brought the camera (darn), my whole booth sparkles now.
Yes, I shop at Michael's and Target. I admit it. I peruse the dollar bins. But nothing, no nothing, comes close to finding the real thing out in the field (sounds professional, doesn't it?).

Keys, glorious keys!!
And what else did I unearth from a dusty, musty ol' garage where I found the keys? Why the original lock sets and door knobs of course!!
My husband went through every key until he found the match.

Pure serendipity. Rescue, redemption and reunion.
I can hardly stand it!!
To market! To market! Hurry back to market.

I really admire the old lock sets and door knobs (and that Matthew found the key)! Good work on that chandelier as well.
