"the birds are fussy"

These are the things you notice, so I've observed, when you retire. "The birds are fussy".

So birds get their bath water changed after a rainstorm...at my parent's house.
But birds are not the only recipients of my parent's hospitality. Their kids and grandkids are always welcome. Well feed too. And not to mention, accessible bath water is always on hand.

Yet my mom always has the puzzle table ready. So you remember to slow down in this crazy world.
The bedroom beckons your pouncing onto the bed with an open book and a quiet heart.
Waking up is no different. Greetings are sublime.
Preserving memories with dignity and simplicity. All of the walls and corners say something.
Even in the details.
Simply kept.
Ordered beauty.
Yes, my parent's artful hospitality whispers..."there's a place for everyone here".

Even the fussy birds.
